Hemingway Pouch Class
The Hemingway Pouch is here, and it’s the bee’s knees. This modern quilted zipper pouch by Center Street Quilts features a stylish diagonal zipper and comes in four practical sizes. From eyeglasses to tablets, it’s perfect for protecting and organizing everyday essentials.
In this hands-on class our goal is to complete two pouches:
• Medium (7” x 8 ½”) for an e-reader, Kindle, or small book
• Large (9” x 12”) for a tablet, standard iPad, or book sleeve
You’ll learn
• How to quilt with foam stabilizer for structure and durability (Unless you choose to come with your fabric pre-quilted)
• How to install a zipper on a diagonal opening for a clean, professional finish
• Lining and binding basics, plus tips for accurate seams and neat corners
Zipper details
• Bring a 20” zipper for the Medium pouch and a 24” zipper for the Large pouch
• Optional: a zipper-by-the-yard pack if you plan to make more pouches after class
Skill level: Confident Beginner (comfortable operating a sewing machine, sewing straight lines, and maintaining a consistent seam allowance)

| Requirements: | Please bring a sewing machine in good working order, equipped with a ¼” foot and a zipper foot. You’ll also need your basic sewing supplies—rotary cutter with a fresh blade, scissors, thread, and pins/clips—along with your chosen interior and exterior fabrics, interfacing, and notions. For zippers, plan on bringing a 20” zipper for the Medium pouch and a 24” zipper for the Large pouch, or opt for a zipper-by-the-yard pack if you’d like to make more pouches after class. |
